Privacy Policy

This service is operated by Ihya International Humanitarian Relief Foundation (Uluslararası İhya İnsani Yardım Derneği), a humanitarian foundation based in Istanbul, Türkiye(“we”, “us”, the “Foundation”). We are the data controller for the personal data described below, which is processed through the Ihya Qurbani donation-management and tracking system.

We only collect the data needed to process a Qurban (sacrifice) donation and keep the donor informed:

• Contact details — name, phone number, and email address, so we can identify the donor and send the tracking link and status updates.
• Donation details — the type of Qurban, region of sacrifice, number of shares, a tracking ID, and (for donations that originate on the main website) a payment transaction reference. We do notstore card numbers or bank details; payments are handled by the Foundation’s website and its payment provider.
• Preferred language — so notifications are sent in Turkish or English.
• Operational media— photos and video of the sacrifice and distribution process, shown on the donor’s tracking page as proof of completion. These document the animal and the aid delivery, not the donor.

• To register and process your Qurban donation.
• To provide a private tracking page where you can follow your Qurban from registration through to distribution.
• To send you notifications about your donation by email and, where you have provided a phone number, by WhatsApp — specifically when your donation is registered, when the sacrifice is performed, and when the process is completed and media is available.
• To operate, secure, and improve the service and meet our record keeping obligations.

We process this data to perform the donation you asked us to carry out and on the basis of your consent, which you may withdraw at any time (see Your rights).

Notifications are transactional messages about your own donation. WhatsApp messages are sent through the WhatsApp Business Platform provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., using pre-approved message templates that contain only your name, a short status update, and your tracking link. Email is sent through our email delivery provider. We do not use your phone number or email for marketing and we do not sell it.

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with the service providers that operate the system on our behalf, under agreements that require them to protect it:

• Meta Platforms — delivery of WhatsApp notifications.
• Our email provider — delivery of email notifications.
• Cloud hosting, database, and storage providers — to host the application, store donation records, and store the proof media.

Some of these providers may process data outside your country. Where that happens, it is done under appropriate safeguards.

We keep donation records and their associated media for as long as needed to document the completed Qurban and to meet the Foundation’s administrative and legal obligations, after which they are deleted or anonymised.

Subject to applicable law — including the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) and, where relevant, the GDPR — you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent to notifications. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@ihyamiras.org.

To request deletion of your personal data from the Ihya Qurbanisystem, send an email to info@ihyamiras.org with the subject “Data deletion request” and include the name and phone number or email used for the donation, or your tracking ID. We will verify your identity and delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain records to document a completed charitable sacrifice.

Access to the management system is restricted to authorised Foundation staff, protected by individual accounts and encrypted sessions. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections. Donor tracking pages are reachable only through a unique tracking ID and are not publicly listed.

The service is intended for adult donors and is not directed at children.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised; material changes will be reflected here.
